Peace of Mind Rooster & Drake Program

Buying chicks or ducklings should feel exciting, not stressful. We know one of the biggest concerns for new poultry keepers is ending up with a rooster or drake they are not able to keep. Our Peace of Mind Rooster and Drake Program was created to make that experience feel more supportive and less risky.

If a chick or duckling purchased from Tournesol Farm later turns out to be male, eligible customers have the option to return the bird and receive store credit toward other Tournesol Farm products. Our goal is to give you more flexibility, reduce the stress of uncertainty, and help make starting or growing your flock feel easier and more approachable.

At Tournesol, we want people to feel confident buying from us. This program is part of our commitment to thoughtful animal care, honest relationships, and ongoing support for the families and small farms who choose to raise birds with care.

How the Program Works

If a chick or duckling purchased from Tournesol Farm is later identified as a rooster or drake and you are not able to keep it, you may contact us to request a return under this program. If the bird qualifies, we will accept the return and issue store credit for use toward eligible Tournesol Farm products.

Store credit may be used for products such as laying hens, female ducklings when available, eggs, plants, seedlings, or other farm products offered by Tournesol Farm.

Program Eligibility

  • This program applies only to chicks and ducklings purchased directly from Tournesol Farm.
  • The bird must be reasonably healthy at the time of return, with no signs of serious illness, severe injury, or neglect.
  • The customer must contact us before returning the bird so arrangements can be made.
  • Returns are accepted only if we have space and the ability to safely receive the bird.
  • Proof of purchase is required.

Credit Terms

  • Approved returns receive store credit, not a cash refund.
  • Store credit is issued at the original purchase value of the bird, unless otherwise stated at the time of sale.
  • Store credit must be used toward Tournesol Farm products and is not redeemable for cash.
  • Store credit is non transferable unless approved by Tournesol Farm.

Important Notes

  • We cannot guarantee sex at hatch unless a bird is specifically sold as sexed.
  • Birds that are aggressive, unsafe to handle, or visibly unwell may be declined for return.
  • Returns without prior communication may not be accepted.
