Frequently Asked Questions

Can I visit the farm?

Yes! All visits are by appointment only. We have guardian dogs on the property, so we need to be prepared for your arrival. Please email us at info@tournesolfarms.org to schedule your visit.

How do I buy eggs?

Eggs are available at our farmstand by appointment and through our Egg Subscription program. We offer both chicken and duck eggs. Email info@tournesolfarms.org to learn about availability or to sign up for a subscription.

What breeds do you raise?

We raise a variety of heritage-breed chickens and ducks chosen for their temperament, egg production, and hardiness in the Maine climate. Check out our Breed Guide below for more details on each breed we keep.

Do you sell live poultry?

Yes, we periodically have live chickens and ducks available. Availability depends on the season and our hatch schedule. Contact us at info@tournesolfarms.org to ask about what is currently available.

What is the Peace of Mind Rooster and Drake Program?

If you hatch chicks or ducklings and end up with an unexpected rooster or drake, we will take them in and give them a good home on our farm. Visit our Programs page to learn about eligibility, how it works, and the credit you receive toward farm products.

Where is the farm located?

We are located in Rockport, Maine, along the beautiful midcoast. Visit our Visit Us page for directions, seasonal hours, and how to schedule your appointment.

Do you ship products?

At this time, all of our products are available locally at the farmstand or through our subscription and community programs. We do not currently offer shipping, but we hope to in the future.

Can I bring my dog to the farm?

We ask that you leave pets at home when visiting. We have guardian dogs and free-ranging poultry on the property, and unfamiliar animals can create stress for everyone. Thank you for understanding.
