We know that one of the hardest parts of buying straight run chicks or ducklings is the 50/50 gamble of ending up with boys. For many families, keeping a loud rooster or an enthusiastic drake just isn’t an option because of city rules—or close neighbors.
To help you grow your flock with confidence, we created our Peace of Mind Program. Think of it as a little safety net for your backyard journey.
How it works
When you’re choosing your new birds, simply add the Peace of Mind option at checkout for $2 per bird.
If any of those little ones grow up to be roosters or drakes, you can bring them back to the farm—and we’ll take it from there.
What you’ll receive (farm credit)
Instead of a cash refund, we provide farm credit you can use on future purchases at Tournesol Farm (fresh eggs, pullets, and more):
- $4 farm credit for each rooster
- $5 farm credit for each drake
No cash refunds. All returns in this program are issued as farm credit only.
Return guidelines (please read)
To keep things safe for everyone’s flocks and to protect our own birds, returns must meet all of the following:
- Enrolled in the Peace of Mind Program at the time of purchase
- Originally purchased from Tournesol Farm
- Returned before 16 weeks of age
- Healthy, bright, active, and in good condition
- Appointment required for all drop-offs (please contact us to schedule)
A note on biosecurity
Because biosecurity matters, we can only accept birds that are healthy and can be integrated safely into farm life. If you’re unsure whether your bird qualifies, reach out—we’re happy to talk it through.

We truly care about where our birds end up. This program is our way of making sure every bird has a purpose—and every family can enjoy raising poultry without the “rooster stress.”
The simple version
Add the $2 Peace of Mind option at checkout. If you get a boy, bring him back before 16 weeks (by appointment). We’ll issue farm credit ($4/rooster, $5/drake) for your next visit.
